MY FAVORITE THINGS

I thought I would share with you some of my favorite things.  I’ve always thought that you can really see what a person is about just by the little things.  So here’s a few of my favorite things which I hope will bring you some insight as to the person I am:

Ahh yes, the wonderful Martini!  Not sure why I love this guy so much, but I’m better off not asking him any questions.  :)

What girl doesn’t love lip gloss?  I’m so addicted to lip gloss that I buy it as often as I buy toilet paper.  No seriously.  It’s something about all those colors ~ their all saying “Roxie, Roxie, Roxie”!!  So to be nice, I purchase them!! :)  Call me crazy, I know!! :)

Flip Flops are the most wonderful things that ever graced our planet!  When summer arrives, I eat, breathe and sleep flip flops!! They are soooooo FABULOUS!!!  :)

Along with my flips flops, I love nothing more than dressing down and putting on my Nikes.

Nothing is more soothing that a nice glass of red wine.  It’s so relaxing to the soul!!  I LOVE MY RED WINE!!

And nothing can make you feel sexier than a hot pair of red pumps.  I love red!!  Red pumps can be worn with such a variety ~ my favorite….. JEANS!!!  Every girl should own at least 3 pairs of red heels!! :)

And of course, my pride and joy!! I love this thing!!  It’s another wonderful piece that has been created.  I love nothing more than capturing those moments of a lifetime.  And to look back in 20 years will be tons of fun!!

Oh my god, as much as I hate to admit this - YES it’s true, I am a reality tv junky.  Please don’t tell my parents! :)  What is this world coming to?  I don’t want to watch the history channel or the discovery channel, I want some real life tv!  My favorite - ROCK OF LOVE 2……I’m so ashamed!!!  Please forgive me!!! :)

SNOW, SNOW & MORE SNOW

Over the weekend we seemed to have accumulated TONS of snow!!  And it’s my understanding that the Tri-Cities of Washington hasn’t received this much snow in years…how exciting!  The neighborhood kids were pumped with adrenaline and ready to hit the slopes with their sleds.  Leo, Jilliann and myslef followed along to join in the fun.

Happy Monday!!

FINGERPAINTING: Jilliann & Jackson

Colors, Colors and more Colors!  With so many colors and two little imaginative minds makes for a creatation of fun.  Jilliann fingerpaints with such detail and creativeness which is so overwhelming to the soul.  She explains to you as to what each colors means, as she’s rubbing her little finger around and around with a green blob she would say, “this is daddy” and with her finger running through the blue blob she would say, “and this Jackson”.  It was such a joy to watch these little minds work in colors of fun:)

VALENTINE’S DAY COUNTDOWN: 19 Days Left

Gifts For Him:
Okay Ladies, only 19 days left until Valentine’s Day.  I suspect many of you already have planned out your man’s gift.  Well me on the other hand is still contemplating!  I have hundreds of ideas running through my head, but to act on them and put the pieces together just seems too arduous for some reason.  Leo is the easiest person to give a gift to; but figuring out what gift is the hard part.  He is the most giving and generous person I have ever met, and when it comes to gift giving he would rather give more to me (which is a good thing don’t get me wrong) and family, which makes him even more wonderful! In all actuality though, your heart seems to want to give more to ones that are unselfish and bighearted.
So I have done my research and found one of the gifts I want to get Leo on Valentine’s Day.  They are the “Design Your Own Shoe” by Nike.  I was ecstatic to find that you can choose any of the colors you want and you can even engrave something on the back of each shoe.  I of course went with the New England Patriots colors (trust me, it was hard to bare) and had them engrave “Doc” on the left shoe and “Cirino” on the right shoe since he is known as “Doc Cirino” by all his fellow Sailors. And on top of that, Leo hits the gym religiously three times a week and what better gift than something you know he will use three times a week.

So if you’re still in the look out for that special gift, be sure to check out Nike.com.  You’re able to design all different styles of shoes.

VALENTINE’S DAY COUNTDOWN: 20 Days Left

So I’ve been busy with Jilliann in creating some great photos for my 2008 Valentine’s Day cards, by the way is my favorite holiday of the year!  And through some very tough decisions, I didn’t choose the following picture.  Although the picture is to die for considering those locks of love, I think I went with a better choice that suited my cards.  I’ve been working with a fabulous graphic designer who’s been creating Valentine’s Day cards exclusively for Roxie’s Photography.  Much appreciated!

Be sure to spread the love this Valentine’s to not only your husband/wife, girlfriend/boyfriend or that special someone you’ve been admiring but to your friends, family and those special people in your lives.  And if your interested in the Roxie’s Photography’s exclusive Valentine’s Day card collection, be sure to e-mail me. :)

Happy Thursday Everyone!! :)

THE COLUMBIA RIVER: Kennewick, Washington

The Columbia River stretches from the Canadian province of British Columbia, through the State of Washington; forming much of the border between Washington and Oregon before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. The river is 1,243 miles (2,000 km) long. Pretty big, huh? The Columbia is the largest river flowing into the Pacific and is the fourth-largest river in North America. And Leo’s favorite part of course is the……..INSANE FISHING!!!

I took this picture from Canal Drive which is just feet from the street we live off of.  We get to enjoy this view everyday while driving along Canal Drive.  It is one of the most breathtaking views from Mother Nature herself.

So to all my friends and family, here’s a little piece of beautiful Washington.

MY LITTLE SHOE LOVER

I love nothing more than Jilliann’s love for pointy high heels since I have a love for them as well.  Who would have thought I would be so proud to watch her strut around in my shoes.  It’s the little things in life, that’s for sure!! :)  She can always come up with something which turns into the highlight of my day.

I HAVE A DREAM

“But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.”

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”  MLK

When we all hear the “I have a dream” speech, we instantly know Martin Luther King made that speech and in turn to find our nation so appreciative for what he did ~ made MLK Day.  Martin Luther King has done great things, he educated, he insprired, he informed not just the people there but people throughout America. His speech was the American Speech of the 20th century.

So in honor of Martin Luther King Day, please take time and read MLK’s “I have a dream” speech. It appeals to such iconic and widely respected sources as the Bible and invokes the United States Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the United States Constitution.  Maybe today is the day to freshen up on your history and to realize why Martin Luther King was a great man and what he did for our nation.

Happy Monday Ya’ll!!  :)

GREEN BAY PACKERS

So I have to admit, I’m a little nervous but most ultimately fired up for tomorrow’s game. When I first initially started my blog, I posted at the beginning of the season how I hoped for nothing but a STELLAR season for our Green Bay Packers, and they have by far, proved above and beyond a stellar season. I couldn’t be more proud of them. Growing up in a small town, you learn to appreciate the one BIG thing Wisconsin is known for.  Our state is consistantly lit up year round with the GREEN, GOLD & WHITE!!  Wisconsin is well known for their genuine down to earth fans ~ even through the bad and the ugly.

And as some of you may know, my wonderful man that I love unconditionally ~ is a darn Patriots fan. I know, I know – how could he right!!  Well it’s not easy at times. :)  Leo grew up in the New England area as I grew up in Wisconsin so it’s only natural for us to cheer and support for the teams we grew up with.  But as much as I’ve been praying for the Packers to “kick some butt” tomorrow I am also hoping and praying that the Partriots “get their butt kicked”.  (I still love you baby!!)

GO PACK GO……

** And thanks to Alice Shipper, a FABULOUS attorney in Green Bay for the perfect beer glass a girl could have!! :)
